Investing in Every Girl's Experience

At Girls on the Run of South Central Wisconsin, we believe every girl deserves the opportunity to build confidence, develop healthy habits, and discover just how capable she is. We also believe that cost should never stand in the way of that experience.

Beginning with our Fall 2026 season, our highest program fee will increase from $175 to $185, the first increase to our top registration rate in several seasons. This modest adjustment helps us continue providing the high quality experience that families have come to expect while keeping pace with rising costs for program materials, coach support, staffing, and operations.

Just as importantly, our commitment to access is not changing.

Girls on the Run will continue to offer our sliding scale fee structure, allowing families to select the registration fee that best fits their financial circumstances. Families who need additional support may also request full financial assistance. Every participant receives the same high quality experience, regardless of the amount their family pays.

What does registration include?

Girls on the Run is much more than an afterschool running club. Registration provides each participant with:

  • A nationally recognized, research-backed curriculum that builds confidence, emotional skills, and healthy decision making
  • At least 16 engaging, 90-minute afterschool lessons led by trained, caring coaches
  • Coaches who complete comprehensive training and background checks
  • All program materials and supplies including coach curriculum books and participant journals
  • A Girls on the Run participant T-shirt
  • A celebratory end-of-season 5K run/walk experience
  • Running shoes for any participant who needs them
  • A safe, welcoming environment where every girl belongs

Each season, our coaches, staff, volunteers, donors, and community partners work together to create an experience that leaves a lasting impact on the girls we serve. Registration fees help make that possible, but they represent only one part of the support that fuels our mission.

Why are we making this change?

Like many nonprofit organizations, we've experienced increases in the cost of nearly everything required to deliver our programs, from curriculum materials and participant supplies to insurance, technology, and the people who make our work possible.

Rather than making large increases all at once, our goal is to make thoughtful, incremental adjustments over time. This approach allows us to continue investing in program quality while keeping Girls on the Run accessible for as many families as possible.

Our promise

No family should ever decide not to register because of cost.

If the registration fee presents a financial challenge, we encourage you to take advantage of our sliding scale or request additional assistance. Thanks to the generosity of our donors and community partners, we are proud to provide financial assistance to hundreds of local girls every year.

We're grateful for the trust families place in us each season, and we're excited to welcome participants back this fall for another season of confidence, connection, and joyful movement.
