Become a Coach

Coaches are the heart of our program! Each season, two or more volunteer coaches inspire and guide a team through our tried-and-true curriculum. If you're ready to directly make an impact, then this role is for you.

Become a junior Coach

Junior Coaches are needed to inspire the next generation! Our Junior Coach program is for high school girls aged 16 to 18. Beyond serving as a role model to program participants, Junior Coaches work alongside Coaches, strengthening their leadership skills and gaining a sense of belonging and purpose.

5K Volunteers

Our culminating 5K event provides a tangible sense of accomplishment to participants. To celebrate and make the experience one to remember, there are many opportunities to get involved. 5K volunteer roles may include: 

  • Event Set Up
  • Registration
  • Course Marshal
  • Food Set-up/Distribution
  • Medal Station
  • Water Station
  • Event Clean Up

Group Opportunities

Are you part of a group or organization that wants to make an impact on our community? Girls on the Run would love to have you get involved with our program. Here are few ways you can make a difference while working together.

  • Volunteer together at a Girl on the Run 5K event – from cheer teams to water stations and more – there are numerous ways your group can bring this joyful 5K celebration to life!
  • Support with one-day volunteer opportunities at our office and help us launch our seasons. We have opportunities like invetory and supply packing and need all hands on deck to ensure our teams have everything they need for a successful season! 
  • Volunteer as a group to provide healthy snacks to a team, or financially support a team for a season.

One-Time Opportunities

Want to volunteer, but can't commit to a full season of coaching? Support with one-day volunteer opportunities at our office! We have oppoprtunities involving supply inventory, bundling team supplies, and packing coach boxes. Help us ensure that our teams have everything they need for a successful season!

Project or Skill-Based Opportunities

Our council is seeking volunteers who can provide support on an ongoing basis. Our current needs are: volunteer services admin support, graphic design, photography and/or videography.

Board and Committee Service

Are you looking for a unique service leadership opportunity that allows you to put your lived experiences to direct good use? Our council is seeking passionate individuals to join board committees or our board of directors. Our board is currently in need of leaders with the following skill sets: fund development, financial expertise, social justice advocacy and board governance. We are also actively seeking a treasurer.
