1. KennedyC has been such an incredible partner to Girls on the Run. What inspired your team to support our mission?
As a female-owned company, supporting Girls on the Run feels deeply personal to us. My three daughters, along with several other employees' children, have participated in the program, so we've witnessed firsthand the transformative impact it has on young girls. With several former collegiate athletes and youth sports coaches on our KennedyC team, we understand how programs like Girls on the Run go far beyond running. They build confidence, foster community and instill healthy habits that last a lifetime. When you see that kind of positive change in the girls you care about, supporting this mission becomes an easy choice.
2. Your support shows up in so many meaningful ways — from supply drives to sponsorships to generous pro bono work, including the beautiful 20th anniversary video. What motivates your team to give so generously of your time and talent?
At KennedyC, giving back to the community we call home isn't just something we do. It's woven into the fabric of who we are. Our people-first culture extends beyond our office walls and into the Greater Madison community, where we seek opportunities for deeper engagement with organizations making a real difference. When we see the impact Girls on the Run has on local girls, it inspires us to contribute. Supporting this fantastic organization allows us to invest not only in the current community but in the future of Greater Madison as well.
3. Girls on the Run focuses on building confidence, connection, and life skills in young girls. How does this align with KennedyC’s values or company culture?
Girls on the Run's mission aligns beautifully with our KennedyC core values, especially authenticity, caring and collaboration. We believe in creating environments where people can show up as their truest selves, support one another and work together toward shared goals. That's exactly what Girls on the Run does for young girls. Additionally, our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion means we're dedicated to celebrating the diversity around us and providing equal opportunities for everyone to contribute, thrive and grow. Supporting a program that empowers girls to build confidence, develop life skills and discover their potential is a natural extension of who we strive to be as a company.
4. Do you have a favorite moment, memory, or highlight from your work with Girls on the Run?
Creating the 20th anniversary video stands out as a truly special experience for our KennedyC team. It gave us the opportunity to connect more deeply with the incredible GOTR staff, dedicated coaches and the girls themselves, both past and present participants who shared their stories with such enthusiasm and joy. Attending a practice and witnessing the teamwork, energy and laughter firsthand brought the organization's mission to life in a way we'll never forget. Seeing those moments of encouragement and growth reminded us exactly why this work matters, and why we're so proud to be a supporter of Girls on the Run South Central Wisconsin. See it for yourself here!
5. KennedyC is a leader in advertising and communications. How do you see storytelling and communications playing a role in uplifting community organizations like ours?
Storytelling is one of the most powerful tools we have to create connection and inspire action. For organizations like Girls on the Run, effective communications can amplify your impact by bringing your mission to life in ways that resonate with supporters, volunteers and the community at large. When people see and hear real stories, like the girl who discovered her strength, the coach who made a difference or the parent who watched their daughter transform, that's when hearts open and communities rally.
6. Is there anything else you’d like our community to know about KennedyC or your commitment to supporting local nonprofits?
We'd love for the community to know that supporting local nonprofits isn't just a checkbox for us, it's part of our DNA. Since 1983, we've been proudly Madison-based, and giving back to the community we call home has always been a priority. Our team doesn't just provide financial support. We also roll up our sleeves and get personally involved, whether that's preparing meals at Ronald McDonald House Charities of Madison, participating in a Habitat for Humanity of Dane County home build, organizing supply drives or offering our creative expertise pro bono to organizations making a difference. At the end of the day, we believe success isn't just measured by the work we do for clients. It's also about the impact we can make for the people and causes that strengthen Greater Madison and beyond.
Thank you so much to the wonderful people at KennedyC who make so much local good possible.
