A Partnership with Purpose
From the moment Stella joined Gamma Phi Beta, she felt a strong connection to the sorority’s national philanthropy, Girls on the Run. After attending a GOTR 5K and seeing girls cross the finish line after a season of hard work, that connection grew even stronger.
“I felt so empowered seeing young women participate in an event that they had been training for all fall,” she shared. “Standing there and cheering for these girls ignited a deeper desire to be involved and ultimately led me to coaching.”
During her senior year, Stella and her best friend and philanthropy chair, Elisa, decided to take their involvement one step further and coach together. What began as a way to round out their college experience became a meaningful opportunity to support and empower girls.
For Stella, the connection between Gamma Phi Beta and Girls on the Run is clear. Both organizations are centered on uplifting women and girls, building confidence, and creating supportive communities.
“My GPhi experience has shaped the way I show up as a coach through the leadership and compassion I gained,” she said. “GPhi has brought me a strong support system of empowering women that has ultimately helped me show up with confidence and strengthen my coaching abilities.”
When asked to describe the Gamma Phi Beta and Girls on the Run partnership in one word, she chose powerful—a fitting description for a partnership that turns philanthropy into meaningful, hands-on impact.
